Microsoft has fallen 4 points to 70% in the lastest ASCI survey.

Microsoft was level with the rest of the software industry in consumer satisfaction levels a year ago, when it debuted on the index: now it's behind. The index surveyed 80,000 consumers, sampling 200 companies in 40 industries. Chris Fornell, a University of Michigan professor and director of the ASCI, reportedly said a backlash among jaded consumers to Microsoft's launch hype one reason for the slip ...

The average for all other software surveyed is 75% Waiters and delivery men are doing a better job than other sectors which score about as well as software does.

  • Now that OSX is getting so much hype and evangelism from customers, it's no wonder people are starting to look at the OS they've been using and wonder why they've been settling for less. Sure, it's no "Microsoft is doomed", but it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully soon we'll have enough market competition that there aren't any monopolistic bullies powerful enough to pull all the classy stunts Microsoft has been pulling and get away with it.
