Journal: Why Monopolies suck

This week we got a letter from AT&T saying our next bill would include the cost of the following month in advance. Only a monopoly could just decide they are going to bill in advance like this.

Tonight Comcast "TV guide channel" and "History Channel" (UFO Hunters show !!!) went blank. I contacted Comcast via chat and they said they sent a notice in the mail that the channels were moving to a more expensive plan. For only $33 dollars more we can turn it back on. That's almost double our current cable tv fee. Found the tv guide online for free at http://www.comcast.net/tv/tv-listings/. But the History Channel and UFO Hunters is no more for us. Only a monopoly could get away with this. I searched and there are no other cable providers for our area. arughh..

I'm thinking of dropping cable tv all together. We have high speed internet. Can anyone recommend some good internet alternatives or ways to see History Channel on the web?
