I would have never predicted how much of a market there is for old hardware, even 486s. It's crazy. I sometimes find myself wanting to buy one of these old X86 machines, but it would end up as only a conversation piece. It would serve no real purpose, for me anyway.
I am very happy to see others buying these up and preserving them. Kudos.
I got in the BBS game late in the mid-to-late 90s. Still, I look back on it fondly despite the slow speeds and constant fighting for the phone line in the house. Gotta love it when one of the parents picks up the phone, messes up your connection, then yells down the hallway to get off the computer.
