"Knowing that HFT algorithms operate on trends, it would be easy to manipulate these trends with the proper amount of money. The ability to execute trend breaking or trend making trades could heavily influence the direction of the markets by giving the robots data points to form new trends." "Then again, isn't it only a matter of time before these robots figure out how to game themselves?"
