
Journal Journal: The Pill Alters Women's Sexual Choices
A research group in the UK recently found that oral contraceptives reverse women's perception of pheromones. Rather than preferring the pheromones of men with genes different from their own (as is normal), women on the pill prefer closely-related men. The full text of the paper isn't available yet, but it's already generated a fair amount of media buzz. Unfortunately, much of the media coverage seems to have missed the larger point.
