Submission + - Electronics companies hit with GPL violation suit (

laxl writes: Hot on the heels of recent GPL violation claims against Microsoft and Palm, the Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC) has brought a copyright lawsuit against 14 consumer electronics companies for allegedly violating the GNU General Public License in the use of GPL-licensed software in their products. Again, these aren't small companies, but some of the largest consumer electronics players including Samsung, JVC and Western Digital Technologies. The complain centers around the use of BusyBox, which is not being redistributed with complete source code — modified or not — when shipped in an electronic product.
