Submission + - Science Fiction without fight scenes ?

mt stat writes: The last good sci-fi movie I can recall that did not involve interpersonal violence was 2001: A Space Odyssey. (It has been a very long time since I've seen it, but I do not recall any fight scenes.)
I am not a movie-holic and I'm sure I'm missing something — so help me out here — what are your favorite sci-fi or fantasy films that do not have a fight scene ? Also any that have fight scenes for color — but not to advance/resolve the plot ? I have come to the opinion that sci-fi now means "action adventure" format exclusively, and that the dramatic sci-fi of 2001 is a thing of the past.
