Submission + - Fox News encodes propaganda in their URLs (foxnews.com)

bucketoftruth writes: Descriptive URLs are all the rage these days, allowing would-be clickers to identify the content of an article before visiting the site. They can also be used to deceive or send a message. Fox News' website offered their version of a descriptive URL with a few easter eggs. 1. The URL includes "obama-gets-crack-healer-chief" when crack, healer, and chief don't appear anywhere in the article or headline. 2. The accompanying picture in the article is named "0bama_111009_forthood_monster_397x224.jpg". 0bama is spelled with a zero — a popular meme of groups that consider his presidency invalid. There's also no reference to a monster at Fort Hood, apart from the implied character of the shooter. Buy why include it in a picture of the president and first lady? Is Fox exercising creative license with URLs or is it more nefarious?
