MBAFK writes: Microsft Research has published a peer reviewed paper in which they present the first large-scale analysis of hardware failure rates on a million consumer PCs. The study covers desktops and laptops, CPU vendor, overclocking, underclocking, generic vs. brand name, and machine speed and age.
