fishmike writes: "Google Inc executives Larry Page and Eric Schmidt and filmmaker James Cameron are among those bankrolling a venture to survey and eventually extract precious metals and rare minerals from asteroids that orbit near Earth, the company said on Tuesday.

Planetary Resources, based in Bellevue, Washington, initially will focus on developing and selling extremely low-cost robotic spacecraft for surveying missions."

alphadogg writes: Web mail users at Yahoo and Hotmail have been hit with the same kind of targeted attacks that were disclosed earlier this week by Google, according to security software vendor Trend Micro. Trend Micro described two similar attacks against Yahoo Mail and Windows Live Hotmail in a blog post, . "It's an ongoing issue for more than just Gmail," said Nart Villeneuve, a senior threat researcher. Villeneuve believes that Facebook accounts have also been used to spread similar attacks.
