Stooshie writes: It appears that researchers have managed to monitor packets sent by car control systems and insert fake packets and managed to do things like stop the engine, stop the brakes from working and make the displays give false readings. It is scary how much they can control but they did need physical access to the veichle.
"As cars, and everything else in life up to and including even pacemakers or fridges, become steadily more connected and externally accessible, research such as this should be taken increasingly seriously by manufacturers ... ...
