From 15 March anyone taking photographs in Hungary is technically breaking the law if someone wanders into shot, under a new civil code that outlaws taking pictures without the permission of everyone in the photograph. According to the justice ministry, people taking pictures should look out for those 'who are not waving, or who are trying to hide or running out of shot.' Officials say expanding the law on consent to include the taking of photographs, in addition to their publication, merely codifies existing court practice. However, Hungary's photographers call the law vague and obstructive, saying it has left the country of Joseph Pulitzer and photography legend Robert Capa out of step with Europe."

They're bothering because it got kickstarted, so they kind of have to follow through, and more importantly, people want it on Windows RT so they can play ripped movies on their tablet since it doesn't have a DVD/BluRay drive.

I wish they'd make something easier to hold or put in your pocket, the triangle shape of PonoPlayer is horrible. I don't like the buttons either. It doesn't look like it'll be useful for other things like a WiFi web browser, which is disappointing as well, I don't want to have to carry multiple devices around, and I do want a WiFi web browser device with me at all times. Nice idea though, good luck with it.

New Attack Hijacks DNS Traffic From 300,000 Routers 105

The DNS server settings were changed to a pair of IP addresses, which correspond to Dutch machines that are registered to a company that lists its address in central London. The attack highlights the flaws in router firmware, the researchers said. 'It's not new as an issue to the InfoSec community but this is one of the biggest we've seen recently as it's quite insidious,' Cymru's Steve Santorelli said, adding the hack could let the attackers conduct man in the middle attacks, impersonating your bank, for example."

A Cisco SVP concluded his keynote at this week's RSA Conference by announcing what he called the 'Internet of Things Security Grand Challenge.' Christopher Young said the idea is 'a contest of experts around the world to submit blueprints' for how security issues created by the Internet of Things could be addressed. It's expected that up to six winning entries would be selected and the prize money awarded at the Internet of Things Forum in the fall."

If Quebec is protecting its heritage, why don't they require everything to be in a language Native Americans understand? Because culture is a constantly evolving thing, and you can't just mandate or regulate it. Quebec needs to realize this. They sound like facists.
