Journal Journal: The Second Day of Xmas

I realize that my last entry was negative in tone. Heck, all of my entries so far could be said to be negative in tone. There are a couple of reasons for this:

1) When I write in a journal or diary, I tend to be more negative than I usually am in the rest of my life; &

2) I don't like my stepmother.

This Christmas was pretty good for me, compared to my other Xmases. I got some cool stuff I wanted (my wife set out a wrapped present, & I had no idea what was inside -- the first time in years this has happened for me), I had fun at my brother's house, & I ended the day feeling fairly upbeat.

Even though I lost casting my moderator point because my wife got online right after we got home, & I kept me from connecting. (I'm one of the 'Net proletarians who still have a dial-up connection.)

Hey there's more important things in life than posting to /.

Journal Journal: Christmas

It's coming too fast.

Talking to my sister-in-law last night, I realised that I need to get a present wrapped, packaged & shipped to CA pronto. And I'm not ready.

I blame it on my stepmother. Every Xmas she whined about not being ready for the holiday, mostly because she had to take time to accomidate her stepchildren: I & my younger sister.

And were she to read this here, my stepmother'll complain that I'm committing the Crime of the Century -- embarassing her. As if she'll read ``News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters."

I'll get over this someday.

Journal Journal: I'm Published!

The January issue of _Linux_Journal_ arrived in my mail today, with my letter correcting some errors in their November article about pilot-UNIX. (And it was written back in October, so now *my* letter has errors in it.)

Yes, I'm silly for being excited about this . . . but being heard is always a nice feeling.

Of course the copy arrived damaged in the mail.

Journal Journal: Thursday

In case anybody cares, I have been working on some minor patches to AfterStep. Maybe I should now get an account at advocato. (No, I didn't know Rob Malda did work on AS before I tried it. Your point is?)

Unemployment benefits run out in two more weeks.
