Submission + - Facebook, Twitter, and more on DoD Computers (af.mil)

poormanjoe writes: Well it's official. AFMC social media access to begin 01 MAY 2010. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google apps are among the sites that will be accessible on government computers. Command officials said that while using social media sites allows for broader communication with varying audiences, Air Force personnel should keep safety and security of the network foremost in their minds.
Is this a "good idea fairy" that looks good as a tool now, but in the long run will turn out poorly.

Submission + - Yellow Dog Linux 6.0 for PS3 released (tgdaily.com)

poormanjoe writes: tgdail.com has an article announcing the release of YDL6.0 for the Sony Playstation 3.

Yellow Dog Linux 6.0 can be obtained now bundled with the the next-gen counsel. For those of us already with a PS3 the new distro will be available for purchase Febuary 18th, and for download March 3rd. With millions of consumers, and counting currently in possession of the cell based machine how important is it for the open source community to focus on releasing builds specifically for the next-gen counsel? Sites such psubuntu.com indicate that demands for such releases are higher than current supplies.

With the prospect of so many new users is it feasible or even reasonable for various teams to release new PPC image builds with every new Sony Fireware upgrade to help circumvent incompatablity issues with the wireless adapter for example?
