So if an article has terms you don't understand do you whine about it or look it up? That's the difference.

Slashdot has always leaned towards the highly technical, and because of the specialization of technology it's unlikely that anyone is going to understand ALL the jargon.

A geek will look it up and perhaps even be a little excited to LEARN something, I don't know what to call someone who just whines that they weren't spoon fed.

That's very odd, I used a bluetooth keyboard and wifi all the time with my first generation ipad.

I'm surprised to hear that, I've never had any issues with the bluetooth keyboard. More amusing is that you can also plug in a keyboard by using the "camera-kit" USB dongle.

I've used the original iPad and the 3rd generation with the Apple bluetooth keyboard that they sell with Macs, but my recommendation is the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover. However I've heard the latest one for the iPad Air is not as good as its predecessors.

Bloody good question, as a resident of the Ottawa area I can testify that there doesn't exactly seem to be a shortage of geese, and in some places they really are a nuisance.

So I did a little digging, sure enough our efficient government have created a Canada Goose FAQ. And it turns out that the little buggers are protected under the Migratory Birds Convention Act because their migratory. However:

Migratory Birds Hunting Regulations, 2013–2014: Ontario

There is an open season on the Canada Goose from the beginning of September to the middle of December. But with a limit of 5 geese per licenced hunter per day.

So yes, hunting geese is an option, but no, just shooting them in the spring would be illegal.

TL;DR -- It's the nesting season, their migratory and there's international agreements covering the treatment of migratory birds, we can only hunt/shoot them in the fall.
