Well, it appears that you can use Adblock-Plus to kill the tag block on articles here.

Fire up Adblock-Plus and add the following as a filter. You may need to have the Adblock-Plus Element Hiding Helper installed, I'm not sure....

slashdot.org#DIV(class=tag-widget body-widget)
