Earth May Once Have Had Two Moons 139

AaronW writes "According to a story at space.com, Earth may once have had two moons. The smaller moon, estimated to be 750 miles (1200km) wide and only 4% of the mass of the larger moon, crashed into the far side of the larger moon which caused the features we see today on the moon. The surface of the far side of the moon is quite different than the side facing the earth, having a different composition and a much rougher terrain."

Yes, they were using actual WoW data files, including player and enemy models, sound effects and all that. That is clearly infringing on copyrighted material.

If the server host had bought a copy of the game for each server, where is the copyright infringement? I know that there might be some EULA problems, if you live a place where those won't be laughed out of court, but I have a hard time seeing what is so bad here if the copy of the data files on the server is not pirated.

I just answer the phone, asks them to hang on for a second, and then just deposit the phone somewhere silent, like my bedroom, and wait for them to hang up. My current record is 7 minutes and 49 seconds.

This makes it as expensive for them to call me as possible with me just spending 5 seconds of my time.

Submission + - Denmark chooses ODF (google.com)

Seahawk writes: "Friday morning Denmark decided to choose odf over ooxml from Microsoft. For now the decision is only effective for govermental institutions but regions and municipalities will most likely follow some time in the future. The decision have taken four years to come to and many open source advocates have feared the worst, but it looks like the minister finally caved in and listened to what alot of people were saying."
It's funny. Laugh.

Scambaiting Gets Comical; Internet Scammers All Dressed Up 178

Nurse Nasty writes "Scambaiting is a fun and relaxing full-contact email sport. It's all about baiting Internet and email scammers into exposing themselves and sharing that humiliation with the entire world. Recently I baited four different groups of Internet scammers into being comic book action super-heroes, and then giving them their own 10-page graphic novel. It's a bit of fun and eduction through entertainment." (Warning: The comic contains a bit of naughty language.)

Even popular games that are shipping now do not run under it: that tells me it's obsolete.

I would guess that is only because DirectX 10 is not supported on XP - and the reason, I believe, is because MS wanted to force gamers to Vista(It was kind of problematic that people that were first movers did not really move to Vista)
