Something my physics teacher in high school told me, that was a long time ago though. I don't claim to know exactly how a laser works, although I have a decent understanding. His point was the cheap little "lasers" you buy, wherever, weren't true lasers, but basically just focused LED light, not built the same way a "true" laser is.

Most cheap "lasers" you buy are not true lasers, running on LEDs. I wonder if this is different, or a "true" laser. I also wonder why it would need a focus lens to stay focused for ~100 ft (as per video from their web site). IMHO a quality laser shouldn't have a problem keeping focus for that short distance.

Not quite, I see SO many people that "need" their morning cup of coffee and complain when they don't get it, since way before Starbucks was around or popular. I never wanted to be that way, and now I see people that have to spend $5 a day or more for coffee, and I am even more glad I resisted ever drinking it.

Actually I intentionally don't drink coffee, don't want to get sucked in and addicted to it and I stopped drinking soda 2.5 years ago to be healthier.

HDDVD was an inferior product, and DRM isn't about the media, you can encode DRM in/on anything. That is like saying you don't like the new bridge because of the graffiti on it. Not sure how you can say Bluray is more expensive, it is cheap now, way more than HDDVD ever was. It was more expensive at first because it was more advanced.

Agreed, Sony home audio is not the best quality, but it is what it is, at it's price point.

I really don't get all the vitriol aimed at Sony over the last decade or so. I have sold their TVs and other electronic equipment, owned their Playstations, I can think of far worse companies. And Blue ray is a very good media.
