Yeah, the operatives would have gotten away with it if it weren't for your pesky 3-lever lock.

Whenever a government entity says something blatantly controversial like this, it's a good rule of thumb to dig around and find out what they're trying to steer your attention away from.
I'm pretty sure every school district in America still has buses.
"Judging by your archaic User ID,"
An ID in the half-million range is "archaic" now? Shit!
Now that I look into it, design houses that upgrade regularly are probably paying upgrade prices, not full retail. I don't know what upgrade prices are and I don't really give a shit, so just assume my parent comment is inaccurate.
An InDesign 5.5 file won't even open in InDesign 5.0
SHOCKING.

You might want to look that up.
"I'd love to know how the bean counters in Adobe justify that..."
They have to transport those electrons all the way across the ocean, man!
A new CS major version is (was?) released about every 1.5 years. Design houses that upgrade regularly are going to save money with a subscription.
"Why couldn't they spin around each other forever?"

Sounds like a perfectly valid argument to me.
"Esp. if one lives in a state that is comfortably R or D, there is no excuse to not make your conscience felt at the polls."
There's no excuse regardless of whether that state leans far to one side or another. Many of those republicans are holding their noses and voting for their party just like many of the democrats are. If every one of them voted their conscience, those heavily-leaning states would shift toward other parties pretty fast.
"Despite his close ties to industries he will soon regulate, some media watchdogs are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt."
Chumps.
"there will be an adaptation of society."
Sure just like the Segway "will be to the car what the car was to the horse and buggy," right?
Maybe Glass will be more important than the internet and bigger than the Beatles, too.
"The fact of the matter is BitTorrent is in it for themselves, they're not in it for the health of the industry."
The irony is so heavy it could shift Jupiter from its orbit.
An authority is a person who can tell you more about something than you really care to know.
