I never played Castle Wolfenstein but remember that we got Rise of the Triad somehow on a CD. My dad said it was too violent for us but I snuck to the computer in the middle of the night to play it.

Ah, the memories.

In the end, all this added up to a guy who came up with a pretty unique game-concept, even though he essentially ripped off Minecraft.

Steam isn't anything special and Origin is similarly nothing special. Just another way to buy games (or apps) digitally. I have both and have bought games from both. Nothing special.

It makes sense for each publisher to have their own digital storefront and cut out the middleman.

Be a fan boy about games, not about, uhm, digital commerce distribution platforms.

So what you are saying is that consumers are too stupid to use judgement, to read reviews, to carefully consider what should be on the phone, and that Google should restrict their choices.

Maybe Google can come out with a special version of their OS - code named 'Obama' - and it will lock everything down and prevent you from freely installing whatever software you want.

The problem is that when you travel, the WIFI often isn't free. Airports and hotels charge a lot of money. And there are places with no Wifi.

That's why I have a Android phone that can tether (unbenknownt ATT who is providing me with unlimited data for $12 a month).

It's like 4 tokens. WTF. I'd rather play four games of Tekken.

Making the copyright permanent would create a greater incentive to create and would lower the cost for consumers by extending the time to earn back the investment and shifting the intersection of the price-demand curve down.

And do the same thing for drugs while you are at it.
