Down in Switzerland, they need to be registered as a financial intermediary, at least. Which basically means that if they aren't, any enterprising lawyer could catch them for not fulfilling the legal rules regarding money laundering. And regardless of what they talk about tax laws, the Swiss money laundering rules are strict.

In our company, we have resorted to implementing a fascist GPO to solve the problem. Actually, in the untrusted zone, IE can't:

- run javascript
- directly launch an associated application (like a PDF)
- run Flash
- run ActiveX
- change of the default home page
- install toolbars
- use any other search provider except Google

amongst others. It has become a sport to lock down IE as much as possible without removing it completely - this encourages using other browsers.

Annoying people so much that they switch browsers has actually been the best strategy so far to prevent IE security problems in a predominantly windows company.

Which makes these two recipients even more worthy of a Darwin.

These in our company that listen to music while coding or other work must do it through their PC, and there's a soft phone for our Cisco CallManager installed. This way, they hear it whenthe phone ringing.

And the fire alarm problem has been solved by installing an incredibly obnoxious alarm klaxon that you WILL hear when it's going off.

As harsh as it sounds, introduce such services only for US citizens and legal aliens, and refuse all other at the door.

When the illegals find out that they get better care in Mexico, they'll go there. And over there, you pay up-front or you're insured. Like in other places that don't have to close hospitals.

Can't Apple produce 15" or 13" laptops without that damn glossy display? These mirrors mounted on laptops get really annoying, and I'm not the only one who thinks that non-glossy displays are superior to their allegedly cheaper glossy displays.
