There is one group among <insert opposing party here> that cannot fathom having a debate about their demands, goals and ideas, because they firmly believe that everything their think is best is actually the best, everything they think is true is true, everything is as important as they think it is and no alternatives exists that they haven't thought about.
FTFY. And the term you're looking for is "fanatic".
One of the most remarkable things about the American political system is that the most extreme members of each party stand touching back-to-back and reason that others must be far away because they can't see them.
Some of the most pig-headed, intolerant, bloviating, positional, divisive, identity-politicking, hate-spewing, and (politically-motivated) violent individuals I've ever met or seen are self-identified American Democrats.
The others were self-identified American Republicans.
Almost literally the only difference between them is their trigger words.
And you, my friend, are part of the problem. Stop pretending that "their side" is more (any negative adjective) than "our side", or that "our side" is any more (any positive adjective) than "their side".
We're all just cunts with different ideas on how to do things. Some of us are more cunty than others. But insisting that the cunts are more cunty "over there" than "over here" pushes you firmly into more cunty territory.
How do people not understand that "right" and "left" are COMPLETELY RELATIVE TERMS? They have ZERO absolute meaning. Those words are useless to describe anything that isn't in relation to something else.
Your side isn't better. Neither is theirs. Your ideas aren't "right" and theirs aren't "wrong" simply by virtue of being liberal/conservative/libertarian/right/left/republicrat/demolican/etc.
Get over yourself. Get over them. Stop whinging that "they" don't like you or what you say or who you are, because as soon as you do... YOU ARE THEY.
