Umm, that's 10 days that the whole company closes. It's in addition to sick time and vacation time.

I grew up in WA in another logging/mill town. The best high school story was when the gangs were just getting started. 3 of them had the bold idea to jump a millworker who was buying beer at 6:30 in the AM on his way home from graveyard shift in the mills.
They all went to the hospital.
I think the poster must work for Buzzfeed or something. They want us to go searching instead of just giving a 5 word summary of what the issue is which we could then find out more about if curious.
I was similarly annoyed.
Mega mergers yes, but also an incredible amount of regulatory friction to competing with another company. In a truly free market, high prices would not stick as someone would be happy to take a little less profit vs no profit.
I don't like Apple's behavior on the store, however, as a consumer, the Apple system is the EASIEST by far to see and cancel my subscriptions on.
I've never met an app that was so valuable that I would try it if there was suggestions of spying from it.
I would say, even if they haven't nailed it, there's enough buzz that people should probably just not use the app.
BTW, this will also start to tell app devs and sponsors that if their app is abusive, it might get very little usage.
Also, this is kind of a BS news story. 24 people were foudn to have two jobs out of tens of thousands? I'm not surprised, but that doesn't affect anything. It's such a small percentage of their workforce that I don't think it *means* anything. How many of the 24 had secured new jobs and were about to give notice?
Regardless, even if 24 were fraudsters, it's such a tiny number that it's a big fat "who cares".
yes, I use this feature constantly. but what if, Google had the employees and scale to pull in the top several thousand discussion forums, and then, they indexed that!
I know how to search reddit, what I don't know is what specialty forums I don't know about, particularly when I'm new to a topic, trade or discipline.
I literally need 99% of my searches to return a conversation about the object/tool/technology/concept. How google spent the last 10 years thinking that sham websites clearly written by AI were more important than 1000 comment threads from people actually familiar with the concept is baffling to me.
Another fraction for the wikipedia page
Another fraction for the ACTUAL official site.
Google is almost unusable as is because these things are so buried (if they even exist).
We would break it anytime we had guests, otherwise we'd end up just under. I found that they let me pay them another $20-30 a month and now it's really unlimited. it works for me and I don't have to watch what people are using data for.
Level 1 is certainly slower, but we use one and your numbers are WAY off. Our level 1 charges us at about 5 MPH. So you claim of "30 miles" is way off. We get home let's say at 7PM, and could set it to start charging at 9PM (per the utility request). it would then charge from 9PM to 7AM = 10 hours = 50 miles of range added.
That's much more than we use on a commute day, but is probably close to what a long day (commute to work, grab kids from school, take to practice, bring home), so we'd stay even. Honestly, like many people, our typical usage is 25 miles a day or so, which would be recovered in only 5 hours of charging at night. THis is why I haven't bothered to upgrade to a level 2 charger, there's literally been only 1-2 times in the 4 years we've had the car that the level 1 was "too slow" to meet what we wanted to do.
I think they're talking about situations where the people responsible for keeping the kid safe are the ones exploiting them. I actually think society and the government should protect vulnerable individuals who can't protect themselves, though I share your concern for the constant surveillance state.

I get something like 1125 for the ICE and the supporting systems it needs. that's 600lb difference. not nothing, but about 1/4 ton difference.
Yes, that's a real challenge. I do know a lot of rural/exurban poor folks though and they mostly either go without, or pay >$100/mo to the ILEC for 256K DSL, the fastest available service. This happens about 5 miles from the city center of >50K population cities.
