That doesn't even work. I've been banned from subs for literally posting information directly from CDC or WHO that was against the popular narrative. Just a week or two ago I pointed out on /r/worldnews, and linked to published CDC data, about vaccine efficacy going down.

And I was banned for spreading falsehoods about vaccines...

Sure, Apple says they will deny "requests" from governments to expand this to include other images (Winnie the Pooh?).

But when those countries pass laws REQUIRING it, which of course will happen, it will be impossible to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Sorry Apple. You are royally screwing up on this one.

Today, China says: "There is no indication that H10N3 can spread easily in humans."

Jan. 2020, China says "“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China,”

Well, the WHO said that second one, but WHO basically = China anyway.

I have a touchscreen radio/climate control thing in my Dodge Journey. Hate it. Otherwise I like the car.

But give me physical controls I can adjust without even looking at them and I'd be happy.

Same thing is happening with the newest version of the US's fighter jets, going to touchscreens. Pilots hate it because no longer can you adjust something by feel without looking.

This is EXACTLY why I don't buy digital-only things. I want the PHYSICAL item. I don't want to be stuck relying on someone else's "good graces" to provide continuous access to something I purchased and own.

I can watch a physical movie whenever I want, wherever I want. No need for internet. Same thing with books. I can grab a book from my shelf and read it. No electricity or internet required. No batteries to worry about. It's a freaking book.

Submission + - An iMac on Mars? Perseverance rover runs on a PPC G3 processor

andyring writes: According to Gizmodo, the Mars rover many of us watched land recently is powered by none other than a 1990s era PowerPC 750 G3 processor. Running at a whopping 233mhz, the processor was the first to use branch prediction, still used in modern processors today. But why the ancient G3? It is reliable, proven, and can be hardened for space to withstand up to 1 million rads of radiation and temperatures from -67F to 257F for $200,000 each. The same G3 powers many of the satellites orbiting the earth today.
