Submission + - Nebraska Nuclear Plant at Level 4 Alert (enenews.com)

iiiears writes: Why nuclear power will never supply the world's needs.
World req. 15 TW =15,000 reactors. Each lasts 50yrs. 6-12yrs to build. 10-20yrs decomission.
11 nuclear accidents at the level of a full or partial core-melt. 14,000 reactor-years of nuclear operations.
15,000 reactors would mean we would have a major accident somewhere in the world every month.

Submission + - SSL - A message from Comodo Hacker. + Stuxnet Ire (pastebin.com)

iiiears writes: Slashdot munged the prior post due to a pastebin formatting issue. It is a typical political scree that indicts the U.S. and Israel for Stuxnet defends Iran and it's leaders and promises further attacks (Yahoo, Microsoft, Gmail) and an unamed individual in IT. Mirroring it would certainly piss off everyone BUT the hacker...
Slasfdot Moderators it is up to you.

Submission + - Cell phones are tools of Big Brother. (ostatic.com)

iiiears writes: "It just recently became possible to run some very widely used phones with free software. There's a version of Android called Replicant that can run on the HTC Dream phone without proprietary software, except in the U.S. In the U.S., as of a few weeks ago there was still a problem in some dialing library, although it worked in Europe. By now, maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. I don't know."
