Submission + - Only English Final Fantasy 2 Nes Cart On Sale for 50K

Croakyvoice writes: Recently we have seen some truly amazing auctions show up on Ebay, the Legend of Zelda Nes game that was on sale for 150K and the $1.2 Million Ultmate Video Game Collection. Well now another of the Holy Grails of the video game world is now up for sale, Final Fantasy 2 was never released outside of Japan when Square opted to scrap its work on the Nes and focus on the 16 bit Super Nintendo. This particular cartridge was put together by the folks at Square Soft USA to display at the 1991 Winter Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Cart is the only one in existance.

Usually these protoypes are disabled by Apple but this one is fully functional. All functions of the software seems to work. All parts on this iPHONE are original prototype parts, except for the battery, which was removed by Apple, and I replaced it with an OEM iPhone Battery. This iPhone is model N90AP.", the auction has a very steep 10,000 dollar buy it now price.

The console comes with features such as screens which are 90% bigger in size than the original 3DS, a much needed improvement in battery life and also the 3D effect on the console has noticeably improved. The 3DS XL is Nintendo's attempt at even moreso dominating the handheld console market over the PSVita but also bringing back the gamers lost to the likes of Android and iOS Devices. The other major 3DS news of the day is the release of New Super Mario Bros 2 a continuation of the DS game released in 2006. In Japan the game has sold over 800,000 copies since game launch and Nintendo will be hopeful to replicate that success in the U.S.A.

Croakyvoice writes: A few years ago the Homebrew community went from one console to another releasing some excellent software, from the Days of the Dreamcast the first breakthrough homebrew console, to the PSP which gave us the first handheld Nintendo 64, GBA and PSX emulators on an handheld. The last few years we have seen Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Apple all bring out means to thwart homebrew develepment. The app store on both Android and IOS has took many homebrew devs over to them to try and break the market. With the major consoles they have so many firmware updates these days that the days of Homebrew seem to be numbered, is there a way back for the Homebrew Community?

Croakyvoice writes: Today the Dreamcast celebrates its 9th Birthday in the US, Sega`s last console was the first to offer free gaming over broadband speed and featured many great games such Crazy Taxi, Metropolis Street Racer, Soul Calibur , Phantasy Star Online, Virtua Tennis and Ferrari F355 Challenge. Sadly it all ended too soon but these days and infact for many years the Dreamcast Homebrew Community have kept the flag flying with many new emulators and games each month for the Dreamcast.

Croakyvoice writes: Gamepark Holdings the makers of the GP2X Console have today announced the successor which is called the WIZ, the new GBA Micro sized console features a touchscreen, Linux OS, an Arm9 533MHZ 3D processor with 64MB of ram and will have commercial games on sale at launch in October. Best of all for fans of homebrew and emulation on the GP2X all that needs to be done is recompiling of sourcecode.

Croakyvoice writes: A japanese coder has today released the first (Nes) emulator for the PS3 using the BD-J Format, a java format that allows homebrew games and now emulators on any firmware PS3, This release plays the like of Super Mario Bros at full speed. Previous Homebrew for the PS3 include a flight demo that shows off the graphical capabilities of the PS3.

Croakyvoice writes: Jube an Electronics Engineer has today posted 2 videos of his Touchscreen Project for the PSP, Basically he has replaced the LCD Screen in the PSP with a Touchscreen of the same size, the videos show the touchscreen in action, the projects aims are also to increase battery life and feature a re-designed control pad. The Homebrew Community again lead the way on Sonys Handheld for innovation.
