The best tool they have to assure that card counting gains no advantage is to use "auto-shufflers" which re-insert the used cards back into the six deck "shoe" right after they are used in a hand. Theoretically, you can receive the same card a couple times within five hands dealt because it is an eligile card to be dealt. In Las Vegas, the last time I was at NY, NY they used these auto shufflers exclusively and I avoided them. However, the average player would not know what to look for and would be happy to play at those tables. Not only is card counting meaningless but they also eliminate the delays of having to reshuffle the six card shoes periodically. Several times a day they do replace the cards not only because they get worn out by constant use but they could potentially be marked.

Use it AT THE HOSPITAL! Most all doctors will tell you that whatthe body needs most after a major surgery or incident is plenty of rest. That is one thing you dont get at the hospital. You are woken up every 2-3 hours for tests. If this was monitored constantly, then you could get the 8 hours of sleep you minimally need to start healing instead of waiting to go home. Use outside of a hospital- well that could lead to a national of hypochondriacs (ex. Making a blanket statement like this only seeks to infuriate the less-informed. I wonder, if the same study was done, for those individuals who hold a security clearance, would the same hold true? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Integrity is one of the big assets you can carry with you in life, and even if you are dealt shit, it doesn't mean you have to compromise your integrity or ethics. The time will come when you perhaps have the ability to even the scales, but do it within the scope of keeping your own respectability and integrity high. All it takes is one random comment to start a ball rolling that will soon destroy you. Then again, if you are just a poser in a job, then you deserve everything that happens to you.
