Not going to happen until all the religious nut jobs die off. (PS: GP, they weren't helping your schooling between the "protestant work ethic" aka schooling-as-designed-for-factory-workers and the fundies who want all science removed from evereywhere) I suspect by the time that happens the fat cats will have found or manufactured a new wedge to generate the divide they need to keep in power. Sheeple gonna sheep.

I admit, sometimes I wonder if the American revolution was a mistake.

The real irony here is that you can't fuel a ICE car with coal (okay, technically you can by converting coal to get something liquid, but nobody does it). You *can* and *do* (statistically speaking) fuel a tesla with coal -- about 30% of it, based on 2016 numbers (https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3)

Didn't give me any trouble, other than the blown night vision. Admittedly I was pulled off on a county road in the middle of nowhere but I'd found a spot I could get fully off the road and my car is orange so anyone else with their lights on would have spotted us.

Comment Re:Ok. Get rid of cars... (Score 1) 296

You don't need a car for most of that. You need an electric cargo bike. Possibly an enclosed electric cargo bike. You might say, "well isn't that just a 2 wheel electric car?" and you're certainly right from a certain point of view. But the more important point of view is noting that the 50-70 lb (maybe 150-200 for an enclosed one) bike is hauling 2-300 lbs of load (you, ice, wood, beef), rather than 3000+ lbs of car hauling 2-300 lbs of load.

As electric cars take over, there's going to be some interesting reclassification going on in the realm of car-"motor"cycle-bike. Hopefully there'll be more sanity too about it. I find it absurd that in many states (including IL) its illegal for anyone under 16 to ride an electric-assist bike (outside of private property). Mind you, e-bikes are limited to 20 mph, which is well within the speed capability of pre-16 year old teens. Also, if we let a 15 year old with permit drive a 3-ton SUV, I think we can probably let them ride a ~50 lb e-bike.

Did anyone QA the thing? What a trainwreck! Maybe even "Sad!"

I found a dead link (copyright policy link at the bottom, which goes to an unknown server named "edit-45"), two merged sections of his policy plans ("America First Foreign Policy" includes the full text of "Trade Deals Working For All Americans"), and some sort of odd horizontal rule thing going on at "Bringing Back Jobs And Growth."

I had the same initial reaction, but I thought about it a bit more.

Sonos may have had to write their own library. They need measured-in-milliseconds audio synchronization between speakers for their product to work (and it does, we have a set and love them). Remember that they first released this back in what, 2005? Yes, these days they can get a lot of CPU power in a PLAY:N speaker for cheap because of the smartphone revolution. 2005? Not so much. They may have had to write their own library (though why it would only surface this year does seem pretty questionable) because of hardware constraints.

Fan noise can be an issue with the early razer blade. Mine is the gtx970m edition, not the 1060 though, both are 2016 models (early/late in the mac parlance, I guess). I'd also comment the aluminum covering the fans is a little weak/flexible, they need to work on their engineering there.

Other than that its a nice laptop, no huge complaints. Had I known they were going to release the 1060 so fast though, I might have waited and gotten a 1060 blade without the core, especially since the core won't charge the blade.

At least newegg gives you an option to limit it to newegg itself as soon as you hit search.

But yes, my one experience with their 'marketplace' (flash deals) was shit. Item shipped significantly different than item pictured, far lower quality. On the plus side, they gave a refund and did *not* want their trash back. At least it only wasted a little time (and materials)?
