Normally I'd say yes, but after seeing the trailer I disagree - tentatively. I think they're getting this one right so far. Casting, look, music, dialogue, attitude - it's all there. I'm excited for once to see a live action anime. Still not cool with not seeing Ed, but maybe if they get a second season...

Unfortunately that's exactly how privacy works (now), bucko. As long as the camera isn't pointed at an interior window, there is no expectation of privacy in a public space in most places in the US. (Local laws may vary though.) I'm not saying that it's a good thing, just the current legal environment. If you don't like it, stop voting in people who put your privacy in danger. It's not Ring's job or the police's to protect your privacy. It's the local, state and federal government's job.

True; while the theater director liked his morning coffee, he also had the habit of leaving the door open while he made it. This was at a private school and meals were provided to the staff so the only thing they used the fridge for was keeping milk cold and the occasional soda so the fridge was mostly closed throughout the day. It DID go off and cause the same issue on occasion but we were more interested in the repeatable, almost scheduled outage every morning for a week or so that came out of nowhere - which we later tied to them moving the switch because it "looked better there".

Comment Reminds me of an old story (Score 3, Interesting) 200

I was working as the IT director at a private school with a buddy of mine. We had an issue where every morning, a segment of the network would go down and we couldn't figure out what was going on. After finally tracing it to a distant switch, we ran diagnostics on it (remotely) and found nothing inherently wrong with it but we were able to trace the outages and saw that they were frequently and almost regularly happening within a few minutes plus or minus 7:30 AM. So we decided to come in before that and take a look at the switch in person. The switch was located in an 'attic space' that was being used for the theatre department and when we got there we saw that they had moved the switch and sat it on top of a mini fridge with the cabling draped over the back. You can probably imagine what the cause was as well as we did. When the theater department director would arrive in the morning, first thing he did was make a cup of coffee. Then he'd open the fridge to grab some cream, leaving the fridge door open... as soon as the compressor would turn on, it injected just the right amount of EM interference to screw with the switch. Needless to say, we relocated the switch, moved the fridge to the other side of the room and warned the staff not to relocate equipment without consulting us first.

Comment Re:Locations (Score 1) 70

They are already doing this. The locations server as intermediate hubs but also serve as customer pickup and return sites. But one of the reasons they are doing this that wasn't mentioned here is because of the recent regulatory approval of their drone service. The drones need to be strategically located within a few miles of a potential delivery site due to physical/regulatory restrictions and having warehouses closer to the last mile enables a wider audience for drone deliveries when they roll out.
