Oh come on... you're nitpicking semantics. And love is not the opposite of hate anyway, apathy is. Which is what non- "racism motivated crime" et al. IS.

Normal murder the person killing has apathy for the life of the other person. It is in the way of them obtaining what they want. Burglary, contract killing, gang wars, revenge, etc.

HATE crime is committing the act not because you don't care who they are and they are an obstacle to your goal, but because THEY ARE THE GOAL.

Can you really not see that distinction?

I guess another way of saying it is after diesel is created in its maximum quantity per unit of oil, can the byproducts be further refined into other fuels including regular gas?

You're either a good slave or one who will be against the wall too when this shit comes.

Plenty of good men and women contribute to society every day without being told to by a master and get slapped down by the powers that be BECAUSE it threatens their dominance.

Letting these sociopaths know their very lives are on the line for every one of their actions is the only way to have any leverage. They obviously have few scruples about exerting their maximal force against the targets of their choosing so you have to push back with equal or greater force.

10/10/10 — a Nice Day To Celebrate the Meaning of Life 296

st2000 writes "My wife noted that tomorrow's date is 10/10/10. This was probably some time after Illinois whomped Penn State's butt. I pondered that for a moment, noting that 101010 was a valid binary number. Then it dawned on me that 101010base2 was 42base10. Verifying that this truly was the answer given after typing 'meaning of life' into Wolfram's web site, I thought I was onto something." You may say he's a dreamer, but he's not the only one.

Excuse me? Fuck you, sir. I'm a retired Marine but I'm so goddamn sick of people hoisting up military service as if it makes you a super-citizen or gives you any superior insight.

They treat you with utter respect, these flag waving suit wearing pricks, until it comes down to them having to keep their word on medical care and other promised benefits.

Blockbuster Files For Bankruptcy 390

Dallas-based Blockbuster Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday, calling into question the futures of over 5,600 stores worldwide. The company will be evaluating each location on a case-by-case basis, and seeks to cut costs after reporting a $558 million net loss last year. Newsweek credits the company's slow adoption of new media distribution methods as a big reason for the company's decline. "... while Blockbuster discussed creating its own subscription service to rival Netflix, it wasn't until August 2004 that its online DVD rental program actually started in the US. And when, in 2004, Coinstar entered the market with its Redbox DVD kiosks, Blockbuster didn't begin installing similar devices until 2008." CNET suggests that "Leaders of pay TV services might be wise to start doing the business equivalent of digging foxholes and manning the battlements or the same thing could happen to them."

Look, all I'm saying is I think Diaspora's progress in its code base thus far should still be considered in the "right up front" stage. It is so early in development wiping the crud and having someone experienced rewrite it isn't too daunting of a task. I completely expect there to be complete rewrites of a number of modules and I consider it part of a healthy development cycle in FOSS.
