No, they usually negotiate with the company pretending a partnership deal is on the table, once they have all the technical details they decide not to go ahead with the deal and create their own version of it (sometimes even by poaching staff of the potential partner). Why pay for the company when you can steal the assets.

Comment Apple's Only Advantage (Score 2) 64

Apple's only advantage is that they are seen as a status symbol by certain people. Apple has gone out of its way to make sure that you can tell if someone you are talking to is using an iPhone. If they aren't using an iPhone then the experience is degraded significantly. There are a million video chat programs, and they all work great, but the cool kids all want to Facetime. In group chats they care what colors bubbles they have.

That works great in places where there are a lot of Apple users, but it works against Apple in places where there is not. In China there are replacements for all of Apple's software that everyone uses, even if you have a fancy phone you aren't really in Apple's ecosystem. In essence you are buying an iPhone to become a second class citizen in all of the software you actually want to use. Everyone else is running Android.

Throw in major financial issues in China and all of a sudden Apple's phones look like a very poor choice, even without throwing politics in the mix.

sounds like she is less than open and honest herself. She took a new role prior to telling her new boss she would be taking maternity leave, while that may be legal it is ethically wrong as she just fucked over her new boss and then is shocked he isn't happy about it.

They replaced yum (Yellow Dog Update Modified) with DNF years ago, after they decided maintaining yum was too hard and it was easier to write a replacement from scratch. They just haven't managed to get the new DNF5 production ready. I don't know what the big changes in DNF5 over older versions of DNF are supposed to be.

DNF, like yum before it, uses RPM package management under the hood. It's mostly a tool for dealing with package repositories, notifying the user about updates, etc.

Wow, just wow. History did not begin on October 7th. You are ignoring the 20 year blockage on Gaza. The people of Gaza are living in an open air prison (David Cameron https://www.bbc.com/news/world...). Israel engaged in repeated "mowings of the lawn" to thin out the Palestinian population (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2021/05/14/israel-gaza-history/): 2002: Operation Defensive Shield, 2008-2009: Operation Cast Lead, 2014: Operation Protective Edge.

But yeah everything started on October 7th.

No it's not "whoosh", that implies you told a joke which I missed the punch line of.

Whoosh means it went over your head. And it still continues to elude your understanding apparently.

. You fundamentally not understanding what hyperbole is has its own humerus merits for sure, but for a whoosh you need to be in on the joke, not part of it.

What something being COMPLETELY UNTRUE that it no longer qualifies as hyperbole do you not understand?

Plus you also don't personally own the definition of "hellscape" which, since hell doesn't exist and no one knows what it looks like anyway is pretty much by definition a term of hyperbole.

WHEN THE FUCK DID I SAY THAT I DID, PUPPY MURDERER? Now you're LYING as I NEVER said that I owned anything. He's never worked in a hellscape. But you will excuse anything he said, won't you?
