Solar Flare Interferes With Radio, But No Big Auroras 37

RedEaredSlider writes "The largest solar flare in several years has disrupted some communications, though it was not in the right position to create auroral displays visible from lower latitudes. The flare, which erupted on Feb. 15, sent what is called a coronal mass ejection, or CME, towards the Earth. A CME is billions of tons of charged particles, mostly protons." Most of the reported disruptions were in China, says the article.

unfortunately that would be one downside, it's should only be products containing pseudoephedrine or possibly dextromethorphan, unless you are at a 'drug store' or some smaller convenience store . i would imagine that were you to go to an actual pharmacy, or the pharmacy department of a drug store they would allow a valid passport as means to purchase the sinus medication.

is there such a thing as an unattended gas station? i always wondered as i don't believe i've ever been to one. however it seems as though there would be laws preventing such a thing due to the dangerous nature of people and explosive/flammable gasses. i know some stations will close the inside but still have an attendant for cash purposes.

or instead of taking 1 or 2 minutes out of their time while screwing with traffic patterns to get over should it happen to be busy some developer out there could develop an app for your phone... where you can sit it oh idk on your dashboard or cupholder as the SUMMARY states... and if enough people running the app have a bump at the same spot then it could be bumped up to priority or if the accelerometer registers a larger than normal bump it could be indicative of a more serious problem. don't knock someones innovative way of solving a city wide problem just because you think you've got a better idea.

Blizzard Won't Stop World of StarCraft Mod 129

On Wednesday we discussed news of an impressive-looking mod for StarCraft II that transformed the game into a WoW lookalike, which quickly drew a copyright infringement warning from Activision Blizzard. The company has now released an official statement green-lighting the mod for continued development. "'It was never our intention to stop development on the mod or discourage the community from expressing their creativity through the StarCraft II editor,' Blizzard said in a statement. 'As always, we actively encourage development of custom maps and mods for StarCraft II, as we've done with our strategy games in the past.' Blizzard went on the say that it's looking forward to seeing development of the mod continue, and that it has invited Winzen to the company's campus to meet the game's development team."
