True, and not funny at all.

Take a whole extra gray-scale panel and sandwich in front of the normal panel, feed it the luminance channel. BAM you have instant record deep blacks with double the ability to block out the backlighting with black pixels! I guess... Probably not, or they would have done that already...

The active LED backlight system will only work properly when they do it on a per-pixel basis. Right now it can only do blobs of dark, with lots of bleeding and artifacts - not good for picture quality.

And anyway - real heroes never die, so just use all the old ones! Start with some of the old Greek ones for basics :)

Still, quantifying how much extra grip the fingerprints supply is good basic science, just a shame that the scientist didn't read up on other reasons for us having them.

How is sending money to someone even remotely related to killing someone's family and burning down their house.

You are just too stupid for words.

wow, easy boy! Your post hardly deserves a reply, but I'll elaborate, since you seem to have failed in understanding my exceedingly clear point.

I'll rephrase the analogy so you might be able to relate it to the matter in hand then.

"Let's forcefully ruin the company who are doing the job they were paid to do for the record companies (making them unemployed so their families feel the pain too). And lets NOT do anything to hurt the record companies, who are really responsible for the whole thing"

That it would be done under the cover of being kind and giving them money is besides the case - you'd still get pissed if someone clobbered you over the head with a bat, even is it was hidden in a bouquet of flowers, right?

Submission + - Medical Devices to get Unified USB Format

entrepreneur.md writes: Medgadget.com is reporting that the USB-IF is developing an industry standard USB format to expedite the integration of various medical technologies: "The USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) today announced the formation of the Personal Healthcare Device Working Group. The group's initial goal is to define a USB Personal Healthcare Device Class specification. The new specification will enable health-related devices, such as blood pressure cuffs and exercise watches, to connect via USB to consumer electronic products, such as PCs and health appliances. Interoperability of health-related devices and consumer electronic products will facilitate the communication between patient and doctor, individual and fitness coach, or elderly person and a remote caregiver."
