We in building are going for a standard look and feel throughout. You want a ceiling? I'll build it wherever you want. You want 60 houses? Im building them all at 8' so I can get a big discount on materials.

If all you nerds would sit around and watch TV instead of using HULU and talking on slashdot, advertisers would make more money. Then the shows could be better, and it would actually be profitable to be in sci-fi. Unfortunately I got tired of tv when I was 16 and never looked back.

Natural disasters happen where construction standards are poor and people have built on poor foundations and in low lying areas. Earthquakes don't really destroy everything, unless we're talking about living in shantyville. Raise construction standards for the poor and cease disasters. Hell, raise standards for poor areas and remove hundreds of different disasters that come with being poor, like crime and violence.

So, basically, Google could cure cancer in like, say 6 months. Or even 6 Years. But they don't. Because Big Pharma says no. What a bunch of jerks.

I dont think it was a "Why? What a waste!" I think it was more of a "Why? I haven't got the details, and am too lazy/busy/stupid to google it"
