Comment Re:WTF? (Score 1) 251

I'm no apple fanboy, in fact I detest their close door policy bad enough not to own a single apple device. However, giving credit where its due, apple wasn't the first to any of those things. Apple nonetheless was the first to do it right. I used smartphone pre iPhone, Nokia's were great and WM5 touch interface was a joke. Apple did it right with their gestures and multitouch capacitive screens. Same with iPad, I played with tablets, but the tablet UI's "also a touch interface" mentality meant they were a joke.
In terms of laptops, I don't like Apple ones at all, I don't see any innovation there except to make them pretty, I have seen feather light carbon fiber laptops equipped with top notch hardware at better prices than pretty little things from Apple.

Comment RIM is working on MDM (Score 1) 220

From all the rumors floating around and recent news that RIM hired Apple iOS developers, it seems RIM is building a BYOD mdm solution. From what I understand they are looking to partition the devices, BB, iOS and Android. The secure enterprise partition can be managed by RIM's BES or whatever they call it. Not sure how they will achieve this, sandboxing secure partition or what, but it sounds good on paper.

Comment 6000 HD movies (Score 1) 293

h.264 1080p video at 9kbps+1500kbps DTS channel is like 13634.8168 hours of video.

For the pirate people, thats like 6000 movies or so.

Sweet, at 3TB Raid at home, I'm already struggling to store videos from my HD cam. Fortunately I bought the MiniDV type so I always have tape backups.

Comment Wrong Science (Score 0) 324

To be honest, its science like this that does harm to global climate change initiatives.

I can't see humans drinking and then pissing changes ocean levels. Yah, I am exaggerating, but that is what we are saying. The same water that had got there anyway got routed and used, how does that explain sea level rise!

Comment Worst Places (Score 2) 141

Basher has 55% popularity in Syria, his oppression of the other 45% is definitely wrong, however there are places like Bahrain where the rulers have only 30% support, they are killing doctors who happen to help peaceful protesters shot by shotguns at point blank range by the local enforcement. The difference is that Assad is supported by Iran and Bahrain is a western ally.

What bull shit, the mighty west comes screaming foul when one of those pissed and frustrated by their policies does something stupid.

Comment Re:Can't feed nor provide clean water for populati (Score 5, Insightful) 336

I have read this bullshit before. India had a GDP of 1.73 trillion dollars last year, of this it spend 36 billion on R&D including this one. So you are saying its wrong to spend less than 2 cents of every dollar you make on protecting yourself. Not only that, this tech also is related to satellite launch market, which is quite lucrative. India also launches and makes money on that.

So don't buy your LED TV, smartphone, Laptop until you pay off your mortgage, that is wrong priorities by your logic. Furthermore, dare you get a gun or a security system in your house until your mortgage and debt are paid off.

What rubbish!

This is what Muhammed (pbuh) said about acquiring knowledge:

"To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or female. The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr."

Comment Lego Mindstorm (Score 4, Interesting) 525

If he is 11, get him lego mindstorm. Out of the box it comes with a UI that lets you do logic and control your lego creations. Once he gets the concepts of loops and ifs, wipe the firmware with community Java firmware (lejos) where he can write Java code to control his mindstorm bots.

By this time he would have bootstraped himself into programming and internet would be enough.
