The governments of the western world seem to have it in mind that criminalizing everything will protect them from some sort of boogeyman/men. Hackers, and in general people who steal whats "theirs". People who just want to share their free thought. What the people in power want is for you to second guess everything you say or do, and to live in fear of the consequences. They want to create a cyber police and regulate every aspect of our lives. For what? For profit. To maintain control. No other reason. We've seen thanks to the actions of Anonymous and wikileaks and others how deep the corruption is. We've seen first hand what happens when some group destroys an entire eco system (the gulf of mexico) compared to when someone attacks the state. Now all the cards are on the table. They want to shut it all down. They want three strikes laws. They want search and seizure laws. They want to do things without due process or warrents. They want to impose their twisted morality on the populace. They want to frame Anonymous/Wikileaks and the like and make them out to be pedophiles or terrorists or pirates or rapists. It's rather disgusting how obvious it is. And the most shocking thing of all is that they are actually SURPRISED by the retaliation they are receiving, as minimal as it is! The actions of what appear to be just a few people have terrified the companies who thought they had carte blanc to do as they pleased. However it hasn't pressed them to change their ways, but to hide behind a veneer of superiority and attempt to stop those selfish robin hoods of the internets.

Frankly, If I wanted a part right away at an exorbitant price, I'd have it shipped overnight express from sparkfun or some other online retailer. Hell it's probably still cheaper. I'm in Canada and Radio Shack as a brand went defunct years ago (bought out by circuit city and forced to rename to the source, then bought out by Bell). I mean, I'll always have the memories of old radio shack with its TRS-80's and Tandy computers or otherwise and remote control cars stacked in a pyramid around christmas, with all kinds of weird parts 8 year old me didn't understand but was fascinated by. All kinds of weird robots that didn't actually do anything. But that radio shack only exists in my memories. There is no going back. The world has changed. Robots no longer drive around in circles bumping into walls. Computers no longer take days to set up properly. Yes my first PC was a Tandy. I quite loved it.

Sadly, nobody goes to malls anymore anyways. Radio Shack was a place for men to go to wind down while their wives or girlfriends shopped for useless things like clothing and whatnot.

A lot of people pay for netflix out of convenience. It is a reasonably priced service. Why would someone who roots their phone not want it?

Apple clearly invented everything and Nokia didn't. Apple has existed since the 50's when they signed the Beetles then became a computer company in the 70's once John left the band. Nokia didn't start to exist until they invented Snake in the early 90's and coasted on that fame up until snake 2 and diminishing returns on their Snake based empire. I'm glad that lawyers exist to punish companies that aren't Apple for stealing from Apple.
