I completely agree. If he wants creative freedom there are plenty of platforms - he could easily start a youtube channel with his current fanbase.

That said, I don't think he has been funny in a while. If they fire him now it might be a good time. His shows are filled with attacks on the right that aren't really jokes but attract a laugh from the extreme leftist audience. There are also his particular breed of nonsense joke which seems to address fictional characters. While his shows are informative and address important topics, they aren't really hitting that funny spot that they're marketed at. Maybe it is time for Disney to find a new host.

Until Linux can do what Windows and Apple have done for 20+ years, it will still be a non-desktop operating system.

It is pretty obvious to everyone at this point that Torvalds is a toxic individual. At every point where he could respond with criticism AND respect he chooses not to. In any healthy workplace he would be fired by now. The Linux community should really push him out. Linux isn't going away any time soon, it won't fail without Torvalds. Noone needs him any more, not with his behaviour. Maybe it is time for a non-Torvald's fork.

Linus had long created a hostile, deconstructive development environment. It is time that the developer community start to move Linus to the periphery so that constructive discussion can become the norm.

Not at all. You can pretty much use any modern language for any problem, but some are better at some tasks than others. Some are also more intuitive, easier to read and elegant, and often those things are sacrificed for the sake of flexibility. I think the person is trying to say that we can have both. For example (from the article) spreadsheets written in BASIC that were both easy to program with low barriers to entry, and powerful as well.
