Navigation is horribly broken now, and does not play nice with Nova Launcher. It was really nice before, so easy to flip between apps. Anything they added is not worth this broken UI. Ironic because I *just* bought a Pixel 3a because I wanted prompt updates for Android. If all they're going to do is keep making it worse and worse, I'll pass.

When you ask manufacturers what they think people want they say "Thinner phones!" (thus justifying non-replaceable batteries and no headphone jacks).

When you ask consumers what they really want they say "Longer battery life. We don't care how thin it is"

And I guarantee you no one ever pleaded with a manufacturer to take away their headphone jack.

I find the newer phones to be less and less attractive. If I'm going to wait for that situation to improve it might be a long wait.
(And don't get me started on how Android keeps getting worse and worse.)

You could have a reader app that went around to all your friends blogs, pulled data, and let you view a unified stream (like Facebook). You might want the blogs to use a standardized API for delivering that, but it doesn't seem too hard. The "normal" web page could just have what you want to be public (and the scrapers could only see that). With authorization through the API, identifying you as a friend, it could deliver more. You could even post content limited to selected people. It could be nice.
