Comment Re:ATTACK WAS KNOWN BEFORE OCCURRENCE BY AUTHORITI (Score 1) 245

Nothing new here, the IRA regularly called Scotland yard to claim responsibility just prior to their attacks, they even had a system of secret code words to prove who was talking. There's no point to an attack if the terrorist tries to hide responsibility, and a claim of responsibility after the attack can be disputed. Like the animals who hacked a solider to death in a busy London street and then started talking to CCTV cameras about 'why', these people want the whole world to know who they are, and why they are pissed. There will be people in Kenyan who sympathised with the 'cause' (at least before the attack), unsurprising if the operation started leaking with so many people involved.

Terror doesn't work, and probably never will, it simply makes the vast majority who survive more determined to kill you. By that I mean, who off the top of their head can remember the stated reason for the murder above? - Most of us don't care, they have gone so far past the point of 'reasonable', we simply dismiss the message as the ramblings of a madman and demand they be removed from OUR society. That's why the mall attack is big news in the western world, we can relate to the situation because nothing says "OUR society" like a giant shopping mall does.. A 'terrorist' attack that wipes out an entire mud-brick town in nearby Sudan or Mali will be uniformly ignored by the MSM.

Hersh On The Osama Raid

What does Seymour Hersh know that we do not know?

Seymour Hersh on Obama, NSA and the 'pathetic' American media

Don't even get him started on the New York Times which, he says, spends "so much more time carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would" – or the death of Osama bin Laden. "Nothing's been done about that story, it's one big lie, not one word of it is true," he says of the dramatic US Navy Seals raid in 2011.

That's great, SH, but at this rate the world will have an intelligent and honest discussion about the false flag attacks of 9/11 in say about 2065.

Here's what I believe, have believed since 2003: we got Bin Laden at Tora Bora. But that was too quick and we needed him to hang around for a while to justify our continued GWOT (global war on terror). The U.S. would put out tapes, reputedly produced by Bin Laden whenever the Bush Admin needed a little "spice" to keep people focused. Obama comes along and decides to "kill" Bin Laden as he is no longer useful; at leaast he can get a boost in the ratings - one last gift the Bin Laden legacy could provide before putting that story to bed. Seriously, where was the body? Where are the photos of the body? We had no problem showing photos of a hanged Saddam, or a tortured Qaddafi, but we wanted to show Bin Laden some respect and dump him in the ocean?? Puhlease...

@2

Every level/incident of America's War on Terror has been found to have been based up whole-cloth lies and fabrications - every one - yet we are told to believe that The Event that got everything rolling is the God's honest truth and the mainstream parameters of our discourse are strictly modeled according to said tenet. Humanity can slowly keep peeling the onion for years and years - all the while ever newer layers of incidents/lies accrete and the criminals peacefully die off in their beds - or it can take a huge leap forward and start framing the entire War on Terror - including/beginning with 9/11 - as the largest act of aggressive war since 1939.

The article is good.

So are many of the comments, like the one of which this is a part:

"...Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, it was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA's views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA. (Wiki)

"Operation Mockingbird has grown immensely and now the NSA and CIA have complete control of US media. Firing the editors will have no effect as the entire media has been captured. For example, the New York Times would not report the Guardian story that the US shares Americans' raw data with Israel without legal restrictions. Nor would the Wall Street Journal or ABC, CBS and NBC. The entire media exists only for propaganda.

Journalism in the US began to die with Operation Mockingbird and now exists as pure propaganda of a secret, fascist police state that spies on all its politicians, judges, academics .. in fact, everybody. It spies on all journalists too and everyone has some skeletons in their closet.

Here is the WSWS critique of the New York Times which has traditionally represented the best in US media. The NY Times has mastered the art of converting news into propaganda to serve its masters:

"In a front-page article Tuesday, the New York Times reported that a United Nations report released the day before on the August 21 chemical weapons attack in the suburbs of Damascus “strongly implicated the Syrian government.”

"In fact, the report did no such thing. The story’s headline, “UN implicates Syria in using chemical weapons,” is a cynical distortion of reality tailored to meet the needs of the US government for war propaganda.

"On Monday, the Times public editor Margaret Sullivan was compelled to respond to a barrage of emails from readers demanding to know why the newspaper had failed to write one line about the secret NSA documents released by Snowden showing that the agency was funneling raw data, including the telephone calls, emails and other online communications of American citizens, to Israeli intelligence...."

It is interesting too that the following comment appears to be from the political "right"

"...Thank you for your post. We live in the twilight zone.

I wish more of my fellow #TeaPartyers who believe the government is way to big would side with whistleblowers like Hersh, Snowden, Assange, & Liz Warren but instead, listen to Rupert Murdoch et al's "Divide and Conquer" song and dance..."

@ 4. Watch for Hersh's sudden and mysterious demise. Hope he prints it quick.

You already know why that won't happen, even if you're not conscious of it.

Hersh is 100% certain to have left a time-bomb marked "Open only in ???? circumstances".

Posted by: Hoarsewhisperer | Sep 27, 2013 1:47:54 PM | 8

Hersh is a just a convenient conduit for some faction within the CIA - it's very obvious when you view his work as a whole.

He tells us what his CIA contacts tell him. His CIA contacts tell him what they want us to know. that is all.

Certain types here will of course immediately put him on a pedestal, because that seems to be what they need to do - create and praise cartoon "heroes"

And Bin Laden wasn't in Tora Bora in 03.

F'n no one was in Tora Bora,

That's what annoyed the Brit Military so much about Tora Bora 03.

so much so that they started giving Press statements that almost came out and said that the whole Tora Bora story was a just a piece of stupid theatre, from start to finish

You already know why that won't happen, even if you're not conscious of it.

it won't happen because Hersh has protection - he's a front man for a faction

Kenya’s National Intelligence Agency (NIS), widely accused by politicians of failing to pick up chatter about the attack, has insisted it did warn the police and officials inside the President’s office before the Westgate siege, but its warnings went unheeded, The Star reported.

According to the same report, a pregnant policewoman avoided Westgate after her brother, who works for Kenyan intelligence, warned her of a terror attack. “She has told police that her brother who is a NIS officer warned her not to visit Westgate that Saturday because she would not be able to run,” a senior officer was quoted as saying.

Terrorism? Give me a break. This is the same kind of 'Terrorism" that is featured in the movie "Brazil", and that Orwell exposed with "Emmanuel Goldstein", in "1984". It's the kind of "terrorism" funded by your American tax-dollar.

Look. This is a fake "terror" incident, run by the black-ops folks in the US and Israel, just like 7/7 and Mumbai. Lets look at the ringleaders. Why are they ALWAYS English-speaking, with a long history of being directed by the CIA or a south-Asian proxy, before going "Rogue"? David Headly? Samantha Lewthwaite? We are not really that stupid, are we?

And just WHY was "award-winning, crisis photographer" Tyler Hicks in the Westgate mall, the EXACT moment that shit went down? That guy gets conveniently located with alarming frequency. How come the people "trying to prevent" these occurrences don't just up their chances, and follow him around?

There are fingerprints all over this stuff. But we will never be able to see them if we wear the blinders and bullshit from CNN/NPR/Fox channels for dissemination of official propaganda.

Personally I think there is a grain of truth in it, and my ex-wide who worked in ER for several years (as a cleaner) swears by it. However the moon doesn't actually create freaks from otherwise normal people, rather it provides just enough light for existing freaks to wander about at night and hurt themselves/others. I wouldn't expect the effect to be noticeable in a modern city hospital because city lights outshine the moon anyway. Weather also plays a huge role in the number of freaks wandering around at night, like everyone else, they (mostly) have enough sense to get out of the rain and are much more active on warm nights than cold. According to my ex-wife and her co-workers, a full moon on a hot and humid Saturday night is the perfect freak storm in a rural (or beachside) ER, statistically you're more likely to be murdered on a hot humid day than any other day.

There's a very good reason that virtually every ancient religion has a sun and/or a moon god, they were observed to rule the natural cycles around them. Modern city/urban life obscures most of those observations and people are left wondering why the hell stone age people went to the effort of building places like stone henge.

I think it's pretty much the same reason our modern society went to the effort of building the LHC or the Hubble telescope, ultimately they were trying to understand the world around them. Knowing where and when to turn up for an "all you can eat" buffet is a very deep behaviour in evolutionary terms, creatures as diverse as apes, jellyfish, corals, bears, and crocodiles make good use of it.

In most cases we are at a complete loss when it comes to explaining these things in detail. For example, how do crocodiles "know" to gather an hour or so before fish become trapped on a flooded river ford? - The brief event (filmed by Attenborough) only happens right at the peak of a king tide. AFAIK, nobody (including Attenborough) has a clue how the hell the crocs tell the difference between a high tide and a king tide BEFORE it arrives. In ancient times people just accepted that (say) the crocs inexplicable ability to predict king tides was due to "divine knowledge".

Humans are the undisputed masters of observing and exploiting patterns, however the root cause of the pattern is often irrelevant to it's utility. Ancient people would have simply observed the crocs (a wise defence behaviour anyway) and been alerted to the imminent fish bounty by their behaviour, some would have been mauled/taken by crocs when they went after the fish, lucky escape stories would abound, semi-random rituals would rapidly emerge to appease and thank the crocs. Next thing you know everybody wants a row of granite crocodile gods adorning their pyramid's driveway, and virgins are feeling nervous.
