Disagree,

There are so many changes with containers and the ecosystem around that aspect its really challenging to find someone who really understand the lower levels of linux.

Compare Slackware to Ubuntu. Ubuntu has all the new bells and whistles where Slackware remains loyal to its roots. I think you can learn more with Slackware and many of the choices Ubuntu is making will seem questionable to you.

That said you will need to learn Ubuntu and the new container ecosystem.

Networking is something I see many many people simply do not understand. NAT is a hack that has infected everything and there are layers upon layers of it causing issues everywhere.

BSD isn't Linux, BSD is an OS. Linux is a kernel.

I wonder how long it takes folks to figure this out ? ( been a few decades already )

Having interviewed quite a few people I would like to know what you consider best ?

There are smart people who have degrees but most of what they know is obsolete by the time they get out of college. They also think their opinion carries weight. It is really hard to balance their emotions while telling them to sit down and be quiet. Assuming you even hire them.

Sounds like a night out on the town here in the US :)

Your culture is much different. I am not sure what exactly the cause is ( perhaps the nation being born from rebelling we take pride in breaking law ? ) but it truly is a different culture.

Even the police act different. Granted I can only speak to the German polezei I watched in action but their methods spoke volumes compared to the US

I disagree. The reason terrorists dont use guns is because an IED is much more effective at large scale killing. A gun is terrible for killing lots of people. It requires skill practice and some form of protection from the authorities to rack up a decent body count.

An IED like the Oklahoma bomber on the other hand.... killed many people.

Quick way to get on a watch list. Use cash for all your purposes and you get added to a terrorist list.

It is impossible to be not tracked. You are either tracked as identifiable or tracked as one of the few black spots. The tracking accumulates and all it takes is one piece of data linking your identity to all that activity.

Every action you have in the connected world leaves a bit of data regardless of your connectivity.
