at a high level:
- save file your PC downloaded and save the music in a format on your machine for personal replay: you're in the clear.
- download copy of music somebody else is sharing to your computer: not legal in many countries

so from a "why bother" perspective: one is doing nothing different than taping your fav show from TV with VHS, record music from radio with casette tape. The other is actually making a copy. and "making that copy" is not seen as "legal" in many countries. (not all though, Hello Netherlands)

"Hacking and cracking are functionally the same, but hackers maintain that their work is to find holes in security systems that can then be fixed. Whereas with cracking, the intent is purely malicious"

in this case they were cracked. Be it through human error, IT misconfigurations or open/unpatched exploits.

coming from OG XBMX, this Infuse setup competes with native streaming apps like netflix, apple tv, amazon prime, hbo, with the upside that if your internet flakes out, it has no impact on what you're currently watching

now that's some misinformed jabber, TF2 with it's in-game store is still a big revenue generator for Valve.

TF2 remains in TOP 100 of revenue generators. They have all the money from TF2 to actually assign resources to it to improve it.
The bots are just horrible, and simply stopped playing it a few years ago. Only local LAN play from time to time with friends.

I definitely don't like listening to people talk about random stuff they aren't really experts in.

I was never into podcasts either, but since 2020 with the lockdown, have been going out more on just random nature walks, and found some very on-topic podcasts with subjects being discussed by actual experts, and it makes for engaging content that's definitely got me hooked for a few podcasts left and right. The advertising however is horrible in some;

Well, macs don't last as long as PCs. Posting from an old Thinkpad W510, now 11 years old, running a modern OS of the same sort as it has always run, 100% up to date with security patches and with the latest firefox.
