I walked out and had no idea what I had seen, I couldn't really describe the plot of the movie after watching it.
This. The reason this movie did so bad opening weekend is because nobody saw a reason to go see it. All the previews I saw looked pretty but were really disjointed to each other. As a superhero movie the preview really needs to push the threat, who is responding to the threat, and a couple of gratuitous explosions. If you can't do that then you have a big red flag that your movie is going to suck.
And I know this is a little bit cynical, but why do I feel that this is more about some lawyer needing to make an end of the year quota on the number of lawsuits he files rather than an actual attempt to do something about the issue.
