You have the RIGHT to an educaton.

You have the RIGHT to PAY for that education.

You do NOT have the right to free education.

"I would hope you want every child to have some education,"

Sure, BUT you best be prepared to PAY FOR IT! I've heard all this "education nation is a strong nation." Education is good, its just not a free ride that has no cost. Good schools cost $$$$. I went to one of the top 2 HS in my state, and the property taxes for the school were 3-4x that of the neighboring districts. Hiring, your not even in the running unless you had or were in a Masters program. There were more Doctorates teaching everything from Kindergarten to AP Calculus, than most of the surrounding districts had in total COMBINED. Getting a job at this district was like hitting the lotto jackpot, they got the top of the top of the top of the top of teaching canidates be it fresh from school or other districts. and they paid very well, top of the list for the area. People purchased homes in this area, just so they could send their deliquents to this district. And homes were not cheap, and still are not cheap, even for homes 30-40 years old. Simply because of the schools.

Why should *I* pay to educate YOUR CHILD? ? Rule #1, don't tell me about the benefit to soceity mumbo jumbo. You chose to have a child, YOU PAY for their needs, and that includes education! What you want me to pay for your food too! The whole process is totally un-American in the way it taxes everyone child or not, I would expect something like this in some Socialist or Communist country.

Can't afford the tuition to the local district, parochial, or private, then home school.

School districts should work the same as private and parochial. If the budget for the school is $x, and there are y students, then $x/y =$tuition. Period.

What happens when the community has no kids to go to the local district. Shutdown.

What happens as the number children decreases, cuts in staff, pay, building closures, sell buildings, tuition increases. What about sports.. you want to be in x sports, this is the fee, same goes for cheerleaders, pantherettes, majorettes, band, choir, glee club, Key Club, etc..

The area I am talking about, has NO BUSINESS base for taxes, its 95% homes, there are few office building complexes, and a few business that existed before the community plan was changed, there are no business districts. The main road through the area is 4 lanes, major north south artery, and when you get to this community the businesses that lined the road in the previous community, instantly disappear, and don't reappear till you get to the next community. Its done intentionally, by design. Its strictly a residential community.

Having kids has repercussions, and COSTS. None of which should I bear, when I chose not to have kids.

Wrong, K-12 education is NOT FREE.

You pay a school district tax of some sort, period. Kids or no kids every one has to unjustly pay for something they get no benefit from, and for those that choose to use private and parochial schools they get the privlege to PAY TWICE. Their school tax and tuition. Should be one or the other.

US education should be soley tuition based. you have a rug rat YOU pay when they sign up, when they graduate HS, you quit paying the school tax.

No need to reply about a how the education system where every one pays benefits soceity as whole, yadda, yadda, yahdda. I've heard this before, disagree. Thanks.

Sending kids to school who don't want to be there and disrupt classes requiring they be separated out, expelled, "alternative schools" is just a waste of money.

And seriously why do I care...

Ok.. your going what rock do I live under... OK.. fair enough.. I empatically tune out 90% to 99% of modern music and that pretty much is anything past 1970. Yes, maybe I am missing out on some peolpe with real talent, NOT likely...

From classical to opera to Big Band to The Golden Age of rock and roll 50/60's I am all over it (sans elivs and beatles, really whats the big deal, meh, a few songs here and there, but overall on both, meh)... anything past then, its going to have a tough time getting any ear time with me.. I just am not interested...I can hit play and play every Sinatra recording and never have to hit next.. or Etta James, or Ella Fitzgerald, or Nina Simone, or The Supremes, or Maria Callas....Not the same for most "acts" today, as I don't see the raw talent. Hell Rita Hayworth, and June Allison had more singing talent that most of the "singers" today. And these were people who were not singers by any long stretch of the road.

What does get through is what ever might get played from BBC One so long as they can hook me before I revert back to 4, 5, or 6 on my Sirrius radio. I squarely blame my addiction to one over the top act for their insistant playing of one song every AM. I would swear BBC was getting a PR deal with her.

Music much like X DE is highly subjective, HIGHY SUBEJTIVE. So YES I do live under a rock when it comes to modern music, I intentionally tune it OUT. There have only every been 3 people to do covers of 60's tunes, who I thought did the song justice, and actually liked their version better or as wel as the original. They got lucky to get air play before I hit scan, or when I landed on the station (prior to Sirrus). Alot of stuff I find through stuff that gets played in comercials, like the Citi commercial with Katie Brown... I am still debating on the singers music, but that was good, but there is the crux of the issue, one song, the rest is garbage. Unlike Sinatra or even Anne Miller (who? We all know! Right?!) who you could give a song and let them at it... may not be a hit or my favorite version but it doesn't make me hit the scan or next button where as 9/10 times on a modern "act."

"How about improving your reading comprehension? And what is exactly not working for you with nouveau? How about doing some bug reporting?"

Your the problem with the reading comprehension. I ONLY use the OEM nVidia drivers. First thing that gets thrown out and disabled forever is nouveau, absolute garbage.

Not interested in bug reporting for noveau, I will for the nVidia OEM drivers, not that it really would do any good. As one I only have one really issue with their OEM driver, and thats dropping support for cards made within a reasonable period, and that would 5-10 years. Personally I don't see the need to drop support at all, but at least a more reasonable period than in use at this time would be better for all.

The nouveau project and wayland can just go away as far as I am concerned.

Works great.

As for the absolute stupidity of both nVidia and crapti to drop support in the OEM drivers, I am not thrilled with it either, as I was bitten big time with this crap on crapti cards on systems barely 2 years old its a big peeve of mine. I feel its a dumb and bad move, and yes you can trot out that if these were open source this would not be a problem. Yes, that may be correct, I, still wouldn't use anything but the OEM drivers. Thats my decision. Accept closed drivers that work with an issue, or junk that does not at all. I accept the compromise that I have to keep a more current card.

Don't know anything about them, as I do not care for intel products. If they are producing drivers that are distributable in distros, well bully for them, as I just don't like their products.
