Yes, we need lots of small fairs instead of a few massive fairs, so that more people can actually go to them, so that traffic is minimally impacted by these activities, et cetera. I mention traffic because I'm not just talking about maker fairs, I'm talking about all kinds of fairs. The proliferation of the gigantic festival is just annoying. The ticket prices become massive, the restrictions usually become onerous, and the whole experience is deprecated.

If it weren't at least a major consideration, then there would be no need for a PS2 after the PS1 came out, or for a Genesis after the Master System came out.

Reductio ad absurdum. The difference is that none of the games previewed for this generation could not have been done on the consoles of the prior generation. This generation is hugely underwhelming compared to every prior leap in perceived quality.

And if this comparison ends up saying "Ouya games look like Atari 2600 games compared to Xbox One and PS4 games", then which console are gamers more likely to buy?

Compare and contrast sales figures for Nintendo vs. other consoles.

You forget that the people buying XBox watch TV commercials and that their competitor is the root-kit maker Sony.

You forgot that Sony doesn't have commercials for their rootkits.

This will hurt the XBox One like the rootkit fiasco or dropping Linux PS2 support hurt Sony --- this amount precisely and scientifically stated as "none at all".

Mainstream comedians are making jokes about the XBone. Stick a fork in it.

Can you cite a better list?

We could just list off sites drawing the most power, and probably stand a better chance at pegging most of the private/secret data centers used for supercomputing.

So your short answer is no then?

Top500 is *not* all-encompassing and you would do well to understand what else is out there (on a project by project basis).

So, can you cite a better list?

You can't trust evolution to clean up after you

Partly disagree. You can't trust evolution to clean up after you on a useful time scale. It will clean up after you eventually, even if incorporating plastic into a new paradigm (RIP Saint Carlin) is the means it uses to do this. You might not be around to see it happen, however, nor your hypothetical descendants.

In terms of worker productivity it isn't close. The average US worker produces almost 10 times as much value as the average Chinese worker.

Another way to say that is that we have need for one-tenth as many humans for a given amount of work done. That would be cool if we didn't insist that everyone have a job...
