Do you really think that should there be a next "world war" that China, or whomever our opponent is, is going to be so kind as to allow us that HUGE military advantage simply because they signed some silly piece of paper at some point? Don't be so naive.

You know, I really don't understand the whole concept of weakening the United States military simply to "make freinds." It is not going to work.

The ONLY reason that other countries want US to sign this thing is because they know that we ARE the leader in space and they would like a more fair playing field if anything happens. Well guess what! War is NOT fair. Get over it.

Because noone can predict what the climate is going to do. Why bother running simulations of the climate on this thing? So we can run bad attempts at prediction faster?

Ok, fine, you find a tool that the ROCK that it is made of dates back to 1.8 million years. So what? Does this mean that the composition of the rock changed at the time it was formed into a tool? Wouldn't the carbon dating stay the same before and after the "chipping away" of the portions that that were removed to form the tool? So the rock is 1.8 million years old, who is to say that the TOOL is not only 750 years old?

Am I missing something here?

This takes me back to 1989 when I was supposed to be taking a MAC flight from L.A. to Seoul, South Korea. Because the eruption occurred a day or two before my flight was suppose to take off they had to cancel the flight. We were told that all routes were diverted because the MAC flight before the one I was supposed to be on experienced a sudden loss of altitude due to the ash in the air

So instead I ended up in lay-over status for 3 days, in a crappy hotel outside of LAX, waiting for a commercial flight to Seoul. I guess I won out in the end, instead of a 24 - 36 (I could never get a final answer to the actual flight time) hour military plane hop I got to fly on a commercial flight for 15, or so, hours.

I wonder what kind of plans or route diversions they are making for military and commercial flights right now?

Do they count the mileage you travel once you go across the Oregon borders? That would seem rather unfair since you would then be charged for gas tax in another state as well as the mileage for Oregon.
