The problem is that you can't vote in any primary without declaring allegiance to a political party, which i refuse to do. So i'm stuck with 3 choices
1) A republican who makes some economic sense, but who is embarrassing in other fronts
2) A democrat who makes some social sense, but who has no idea how an economy works
3) An independent who will lose

It really sucks to be a voter in this country. We are certainly free to choose which poison to kill ourselves with.

This just hasn't been updated in the last 5 days. Also, it'll probably be a while before any distribution enables it -- so having to build a kernel to use a very new feature is kinda the deal. As of 6.7, bcachefs is supported by the kernel, but not by Debian or Redhat or Ubuntu or whoever.

I imagine the devices the OEM uses to build phones cost millions of dollars. Maybe they will sell them to you, but nobody will buy them to fix their dead Pixel.

Maybe someone will buy them to start a business fixing *other people's* dead pixels. I think that's the crux here, it's keeping the cell-phone-repair-business from being a defacto monopoly

I think you're being a bit hyperbolic here. There's a big difference between providing pick-and-place machines to grandma, and not adding cryptographic signatures to prevent 3rd parties from selling replacement batteries. This isn't about forcing Apple to make iPhones easy to repair, it's about preventing them from intentionally making iPhones *impossible* to repair.
