So, being a Linux fanboi, I had hoped for the Year of the Linux Desktop. However, then Windows 10 came out and fixed many of the glaring issues in the OS. Also, they have Edge - the browser formally known as Spartan - which is fantastic.
Additionally, I use my Iphone and Macbook more than my Windows desktop. They all work wonderfully together. I'm no longer doing system development so don't need Visual Studio or Netbeans.

It doesn't really matter.

Comment Bah! Observational Study (Score 2) 78

I love these "observational studies" and their "findings." While coffee may actually be good for us, there's no valid information in an observational study. Also, they could have picked 449,000 people with advanced heart disease who drank no coffee and 563 healthy individuals who jog five miles per day an drink copious amounts of black coffee. Also, how did they collect the data? This is just like those bogus fat vs. sugar studies done in the '60s.

It would be great to have vehicles from the '70s or even early '80s. Except they are not safe, had terrible horsepower, and put out massive emissions. By comparison, our modern cars (and trucks) are way cleaner. I remember reading an article, which compared a third-gen Honda Civic, which got 45 MPG, to a modern tenth generation one. The third-gen spewed way more emissions and was far less safe than the modern one.

I've been saying for years that people need to get out. I remember a sign (targeting immigrants, but still funny) saying, "welcome to California. Now Go Home."

Of course, the 200,000 or so natives who lived in the state prior to the Spanish arriving would disagree with me.
