Actually Smaddox...i own several companies...all profitable and without debt. I want NOTHING from the government except to leave me be. They screw up everything they touch.

Built with my hard work and my own money not family money, not government money, money....i saved working lower jobs and suffered to get them off the ground....i take no handout from the government or their development councils. I have 2 plants in the USA that have not laid off a single worker. NOT ONE!.....sure im not as big as GM or Chrysler or AIG or any of these companies...but i am still in business, still profitable, and still standing with NO DEBT. And yet they file a complaint with the USB who's rule they are breaking. And it covers assigned and unassigned ID's. So no it is Palm who is being the dirt bag ... and i suspect that when the dust settles if they make a war out of this...it will be the end of PALM...they do not have the revenue stream to fight this much of a fight...especially then they are wrong. Sure Apple allows you to do lots of things with itunes and syncing....heck motorola licensed it properly. Well it doesnt matter if its his idea or Lotus's.....once they shipped it and made it public it became common knowledge by those skilled in this area...So right then it became known to the world and should not be covered by any patent. Beyond that if he did know of prior artwork and didnt come clean...when the patent is challenged MS will lose it. It is not how the system is to work. And yes sanctions can be stipulated to damages in such a case...but remember you will be fighting an 800lb gorilla so good luck. Um...so where you gonna get your electronics...last i looked not much was even made in this country and none where grown by my local farmers. Seeing as i own one of those small farms that i also live on....im not sure what your point is. The economy is global...everything you need or want is NOT made nearby. And for those that have not been or spent extensive time in China...Foxconn is not a bad employer....there are way worse and some of those are even government run....this is China...your life Citizen has almost no value...get over it. Every major amker of phone hardware and software has been put to task to quit be lazy and quit creating CRAP phones. Apple single handed is changing another industry....See music industry for other examples. the point is...Apple has a lot of high quality apps. Say all you want but they do. Take a look at the games section alone....nothing else has this kinda selection in high quality games. Most apps have the Apple fit and finish. Yes some are not so great...but the overall level is higher then the winmo and the andriods...just as the phone experience is. And that is as Apple has always said the most important thing. It just works. WEll Whales make louder sounds than 170db in water so Sonar is not more a problem then letting the Whales live. Thank God the Japs have been trying to stop those evil whales from deafening the fishes for decades. Seriously. 170db is below what a whale can produce so saying it is a problem means all those big whales have to too. You are correct on your units and also that water is very different then air. But i would need to know a lot more before i can make anything more specific about the source. Such as directional signal and frequency as these are going to matter. I have designed several major warning systems and there is always something to consider...such as temperature of the water (or air) will effect the que of the water/air thus changing the effect of the source depending on how it is produced.

Actually this will kill a human being and anything else...if you are next to it...but here is the problem what is the distance from source for the 203db measurement! If its 1" then its not as big a deal. If its at 3 meters that a big deal. If its at 30 meters thats incredible. But since all we have is an spl measurement all we know it could be at 0.1mm which would make it not nearly as loud at 3 meters. Not complete data so completely useless.
