Submission + - Ask Slashdot: eReader browser friendly websites?

DJCouchyCouch writes: I have a Kobo Touch eReader that comes with a bare-bones web browser. Being E Ink based, the browsing experience is pretty poor due to the low refresh rate of the screen. Scrolling is twitchy and often laggy. Are there sites out there that can reformat a website to be more like book reading? Not asking for a perfect, tablet-like experience, just something better than what it does now. Thanks!

Yeah, because Valve isn't known to be the makers of some of the best games of all time. It's not like there's an assumption the game would be good because of their pedigree or anything. But no, the evil advertising must be a clue that something is definitely wrong!

Submission + - Critics Slam Lack Of Android Honeycomb Apps (eweekeurope.co.uk)

jhernik writes: With Motorola’s Xoom and Asus’ Transformer due to bring Android 3.0 tablets to the UK, where are the apps?

As tablets based on the new Honeycomb version of Android appear, critics have questioned Google’s moves to enforce a standard Android platform, and said there may be as few as 20 “real” apps for the devices.

Motorola’s Xoom tablet is due to appear in the UK next week, along with the Eee Transformer, but their ability to compete with the recently-launched Apple iPad 2 may be hurt by the shortage of tablet-optimised Android apps. Meanwhile, reports that Google wants to standardise Android hardware are causing alarm.
