You've focused on English language based shows. If you branch out, you're going to find a lot more original content. Yes, much of it is "crap" but there's an awful lot of content being generated for markets who don't see it as crap. Often "crap" is a cultural misunderstanding. The show "The Protector", for example, is Turkish, I believe. I watched a few episodes (I'm from the US) and couldn't really get into the style, despite generally liking those types of story lines. If you look at some of the South American and Asian content, though, some of it is quite decent, even if you don't get the cultural references.

I agree with the GP post, Netflix has established a worldwide market and continues to get better at it. I've watched shows from Thailand, Korea, Israel, Turkey, China, Brazil, Spain, and several other countries that were all labeled as original content (they may have been purchased but they're carrying the Netflix original label). Yes, a lot of content is crap but the same can be said for pretty much every producer out there. How often does a "Friends" come along for a major studio? Once every 10 or 15 years, maybe?

The debt is a point of concern. I don't know how they get out from under it unless they start licensing their own shows to other streamers. They're not going to die easily, though.

For folks like me who use their phones for nothing more than a phone, it's a fantastic design. Fits an adult face better, fits most people's hands better because it's not so wide it's "awkward" and generally appeals to a different market. Is it a niche market? Perhaps, but I'd happily give up either my iPhone 8 (work) or personal LG phone for one that is more in line with what I use my phone for on a daily basis.

This was common knowledge to users as far back as 15 years ago, when I was using it. I knew both men and women who were using match back then that would get the same profiles "matched" with them despite having completely disparate interests and desired traits in a partner. The "subscribe to meet me" type solicitations were ubiquitous and certainly not limited to recent business practices.

Pretty much every dating site I've ever used has similar tactics.

Submission + - DIY car navigation on Raspberry Pi with OpenMapTiles (maptiler.com)

I'd love to have one of these designed for motorcycle use.

No they don't. Especially when they aren't "artists", they are designers who are creating things intended to be used by other people. This isn't "art" (though some good designs may certainly qualify), it's a tool. Anyone who thinks they are the best designer is just deluding themselves. No one creates a tool in a vacuum. Not a successful tool, at least.
